Character A:Hary Haran M V Ramasamy (Block 308 Shunfu Road #04-165)
I begin searching for my candidates for my people-watch.I board the bus and sit right behind.My efforts paid off when a tall indian man with a thick moustache boards the bus.He walks to the rear and sit 2 seats beside me.
As I observe longer,he raises his hands at stares at his left hand’s fingers.He inspect every fingernails as if he is an auditor of a company.Perhaps he found a unclean part on the edge of his fingers,he then put his fingernails into his mouth and start biting one by one.After he is done with his left hand,he raises his right hands and repeats the same process.There is a grin on his face after he finished,as if he had accomplished something…
Character B:Lee Tock Soo (24 JIn Menarong)
I alight the bus and seek shelter as it is too sunny and hot.I manage to find my second candidate.He is a plump,tanned middle aged chinese man and he is smoking.He wears a white polo-tee and blue jeans and sits on the ledge of the pathway.I then found a place to sit,right opposite of him as i observe him.The chinese man begins coughing due to smoking.His throat must have been clogged,so after he cough,he spits into the grass beside him.
Passer-by are disguted by his actions while the chinese man continues to cough and spits.He then uses the long fingernail on his little finger and puts it into his nose…He begins digging his “mine” and flicks the “gold” out of his nails.After awhile,he stands up and walks somewhere else…
Story
Tock Soo boards the bus travelling to his workplace while Hary was already on the bus towards his home.Tock Soo walks and sit beside an empty seat beside Hary.After few stops,Tock Soo feels Hary fidgeting about in his seat.He turns and look at hary,only to find that he is biting his nails and so the arms are moving about…Hary bites bits of his fingernails off and spits them off his mouth.Although Tock Soo tries to tolerate,Hary spits his nails and landed on Tock Soo unintentionally,ultimately pissing him off.
Tock Soo:Will you stop it?!
Hary:Stop what?
Tock Soo:stop biting your fingernails!
Hary:None of your business!
Tock Soo,feeling enraged,starts biting his fingernails too and spits at Hary.
Hary:HEY!What’re you doing!!
Tock Soo:None of your business right?!
Like the iron chef competition,both of them compete each other to see who bites off their fingernails faster and who spits more quickly.
Both of them bites their fingernails and spit at each other until no more fingernails are left on their hands.

Good observations but I would’ve liked to have seen more physical descriptions as well as your thoughts about why they were doing the things they were doing. That’s a writer’s true observation.
