Letter to The Past

To my Soul Mate, D

It has been a long while since we have met.Do you still hold on to those memories we had when we were younger?I remember that we were in the same primary school for 6 years, and even classmates for 3 years!Time really flies so fast that I was not able to catch up with you!.It is as if it was just yesterday, where we run around the fields and car parks with our friends playing Catch and Iceman

People say memories tend to be sweeter than it actually was and I can verify that. Most of my memories with you are fun,joy and laughter, from spinning erasers, playing video games to studying together. You are like my kin, probably even closer…

We did not have to fight with each other for things because you are a generous person, always giving in to me.And it was because of that, you changed me inside out, from a short-tempered tyrant that everybody hates and fears—to someone that they would like to be around with.I also learn how do give in to others to maintain relationships.

Did you remember one time I invited Mason and you  to my house to celebrate my birthday?I could still remember that great time we had.You two were the only buddies that celebrate my birthday, other than my family. That was the most memorable moments of my life, and I hope you still remember all of it.It was a shame that Mason and I were like strangers just after one year of no-contact…

Even though reality isn’t as simple and easy like how it was when we were younger.Even though I don’t understand how relationships are so fragile,I just want to say that I treasure all these little things we shared. It is a meaningful bond that was created between us and those that i have not mentioned as well.

Your patience and loyalty to friends are your greatest virtues and I know that not only me,but everyone else around you, will be moved too.I have faith that we will meet again in the future and we shall indulge in the memories we created in the many paths of our life, one day…

Adios,

Wen Jie
